Where can you go Nordic skiing?

The Méribel Nordic ski area is an ideal place to enjoy the leisure activities offered by Nordic skiing. Whether you're a beginner to cross-country skiing or an experienced skier who's used to the Nordic slopes, you'll enjoy runs adapted to your level, from fun runs to those requiring a higher level of technique.

The youngest skiers and beginners can take advantage of the free circuits, for a gentle introduction to the pleasures of Nordic skiing. From Méribel Altiport or Mottaret, you can also take skating or alternative Nordic skiing lessons with an ESF instructor for personalised coaching to help you acquire all the skills you need for this sport!

In Méribel, you can enjoy Nordic skiing in two different areas and discover many different itineraries: the Altiport and Tueda. The Altiport has 25 kilometres of pistes at an altitude of 2008 metres, while the Tueda area has two pistes at an altitude of 1750 metres around Lake Tueda. Along the way you can observe the local Alpine flora and fauna, and on the Altiport biathlon loop you can try your hand at rifle shooting, for a day of sport and discovery.

Quelle est la différence entre le ski de fond et le ski nordique ?

Nordic skiing encompasses a number of skiing disciplines practised without the use of ski lifts, including cross-country skiing, a discipline practised with fine, lightweight equipment on groomed, marked trails. The skier advances by pushing one foot after the other with the help of his or her poles, or by taking a gliding step.

Which is the largest ski area in France?

From the Vosges to the Pyrenees, via the Jura, the Southern Alps, the Northern Alps and the Alpes de Haute Provence: France has a wide choice of ski areas. With 600 kilometres of pistes, Les 3 Vallées (Val Thorens / Les Menuires, Méribel, Courchevel) is the largest ski area in France and in the world.

The Méribel Nordic ski area opens its doors on 2 December, allowing you to enjoy the winter season until 21 April. Linked to the Courchevel cross-country ski runs, even the most adventurous cross-country skiers can take advantage of the loops between forest and mountain pastures.
